And still every night
We push aside
All that stands in our way.
Like we’re making grooves
In the very centre of the earth,
And we walk on air as though
It were whole
Like your tired heart.
And still every night
You tongue carve
Nail mark my skin.
You belong there.
I draw out your soft parts
And outline your hard parts.
So you can slip them into the
Blunt corners of your insides
Where only I can touch it.

And still every night
You flow, I am warm.
You smolder, I ebb.
And your smile
Reverberates around
My insides like a kiss.
I know you so well,
You read me so well.
And still every night
You learn my name
And own it.

---

I love you Rachael.
