Time had you
06.02.05 20:21

The world is smaller than I used to think.
And even though my footfalls
are out of sync from the sounds they make
as they tread heavily on your body,
I am confident of always being in the right time zone.

After all, I found you didn’t I?

I push the right buttons because
I can still make you sigh, moan,
bite your lips in approval.

Some memories the world will not see,
may only be remembered in stained,
dog-eared pages, the words wrought
and bent this way and that,
put through fire, hammered by
the anvils of selective recollections,
no longer fantasies.

Sometimes, I just want ice cream.
Other times, I try not to breathe
To see if the world might stop
And a second with you
Stretches into an hour,

And time, she had a son
Someone just like you.
